MACEDONIAN AUTHORS AGENCY. (MAA)

The main activity of MACEDONIAN AUTHORS AGENCY (MAA) is representing authors in the realization of their copyright regarding the use of their works. It covers the following activities:

• • Preparation of copyright contracts

• • Preparation of works contracts

• • Submission of invoices for collection of royalties - denar and foreign currency for remittances from abroad

• • Payment of royalties: in cash (up to MKD equivalent of 100 euros), on a gyro account, current account, savings account

• • An advisory role in relation to copyright and copyright laws

• • Obtaining authorizations and publishing works by foreign authors in the Republic of Macedonia

• • Transfer of funds to authors and copyright holders abroad and vice versa

• • Representation of the authors before the courts in the Republic of Macedonia

• • The overall administration of scientific and research projects, when their holders are individuals.

WORKING TEAM: 16 EMPLOYEES, 6 OF THEM WITH HIGHER EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE IN AUTHOR COPYRIGHT PROTECTION FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS

Four of our team members are law graduates with the following additional qualifications:

• • Copyright master studies graduate

• • Graduated lawyer with completed bar exam and exam for authorized representative of industrial property

• • Two law graduates with passed exam for an authorized representative of industrial property

• • Two philologists

MAKING OF AUTHORIZED CONTRACTS

Types of authorized agreements:

• • Publishing contracts: fiction, publicity, literary translation, poetry, criticism, reviews, anthologies, stories

• • Contract for work on a scientific research project

• • Contract for professional translation

• • Contract for usage of computer application

• • Contract for visual art works: painting, sculpture, relief, carving, applied art, caricature, comic

• • Contract for usage of photos

• • Contract for audiovisual works (film): screenplay, directing, chief cameraman, author of original work, chief animator, editing

• • Contract for dramatic and dramatic-musical works: author of dramatic text, translation of drama text, author of opera music, ballet, libretto author, author of costume design, author of choreography

• • Performance contract: actors, theater directors, singers, players, dancers, ballet artists

• • Contract for held lectures, speeches

WORK CONTRACTS

• • Creating work contracts for activities that do not fall under copyright works

• • Submission of invoices for collection of fees from work contracts, denars and foreign exchange currencies for remittances

• • Payment of fees from work contracts: in cash (up to MKD equivalent of 100 euros), on a bank account, current account, savings account

• • Advisory role in relation to the regulations for work contracts and taxes on work contracts

• • Representation at the courts in the Republic of Macedonia

• • Overall administration of scientific and research projects, when their holders are natural persons
